Trading Slow on Court Day at Farmers and Stock Yards
Monday saw a large county crowd at Farmers and Stock Yards with 1500 to 1800 cattle on sale. Morning demand was slow but afternoon trade picked up with feeders at 3.41 to 4.41 cents and heifers at 3.34 to 3.14. A few sheep were on offer with no demand. Notable sales include Dan Scott purchasing ten feeders for 0 cents from Bob Shinfessel and D. C. Scott buying five feeders around 1200 pounds for 4 cents from Hisk & Elkin. E. R. Little sold 25 feeder steers and J. C. Trimble bought 15 steers from Sam Willaby at 31.5 cents. W. E. Little acquired 20 steers, and E. R. Little sold 27 steers to B. R. Hatchcraft of Paris.

Fire destroys three Hill Street homes in North Eastern city
A Saturday night blaze on Hill Street gutted two dwellings and damaged a third in the North Eastern part of the city. Total losses approached 1975 dollars with one house and its furniture insured. Firemen fought low water pressure while neighbors aided the effort, and three structures burned or partially burned.
