Remains of U S Marshal Mullins Interred in Kentucky
The remains of United States Marshal John Mullins, killed by law-defying miners at Stearns on Christmas Day, were interred at Mullins Station in Rockcastle county. Federal officials attended including Marshal W T Short of Richmond. Mullins, 40, left a wife and five children. His fellow marshal Richard Ross, killed at Stearns, was buried at Poplar Hill in Casey county after arriving in Moreland.
