Mayor J A Hughes led a crew Thursday to install a new culvert on Buckner street to prevent flood damage during heavy rains. Crews began building concrete crossings across North Main Winn Court streets, widening the routes per the City Council decision.
Kentucky plans an up to date accounting system for state receipts disbursements taxes and running costs after Judge Booe�s irregularities were found. State Examiner Thatcher studies systems in several states to recommend a comprehensive statewide and local government accounting overhaul. He may ask Gov Willson to have Treasurer Farley issue all checks while awaiting final recommendations.

Dr Porter delivered energetic sermons at the First Baptist services with three conversions and three additions to the church.
