Winchester Virginia Common Council overrode Mayor Ward veto to allow Sunday sales of ice cream milk soda water confections cigars cigarettes and tobacco at qualifying shops with penalties for disorderly conduct. Police force size kept at seven as manager election delayed and committees ordered to study further economies.
Murray Hooker of Stuart Virginia urged Democrats to vote the party nominees in the general election next Tuesday November 2 in all ten congressional districts. Mr and Mrs George Lutz and Harvey L Bell travel to Baltimore after learning a near relative was killed in a railroad accident. Bell informed his son in law and daughter in Winchester and they accompanied him to Maryland. Miss Mamie Stewart of Alberton Md visits nearby relatives and will later go to Hagerstown Md.
