Jewell E. Mason, 20, truck driver for Glaize and Hurst apple firm, was killed when his vehicle ran over him after a crank ignition attempt near the Baltimore and Ohio yards. The coroner ruled it accidental. funeral set for Saturday at 3:39 p.m. at Mount Hebron Cemetery. Survived by wife Doris Smith Mason, parents Adrian and Mrs Mason, sister June and brother Joseph.

McCrory Store Fire Causes Major Loss in Syracuse
Fire swept the McCrory five and ten cent store in Syracuse early today causing about 300000 dollars in damage. One fireman was injured and about 200 hotel guests from the adjacent Onondaga hotel were driven to the street before being allowed back inside after assurances of safety. The blaze caused smoke to drift into the hotel briefly.

Bishop La Mothe Dies in Baltimore Hospital
Friends report the death of Bishop John Dominique La Mothe of the Honolulu missionary district in a Baltimore hospital after a two week illness following a cold at the General Convention in Washington.
