Charge of Intimidation Arises in Frederick County Court
In Frederick County Circuit Court a special grand jury returned two indictments against Charles Whittington and James Whittington accusing them of transporting four quarts of liquor into the state and dispensing it to threshing crews. The grand jury later found the indictments not true after witnesses were allegedly intimidated to alter their testimony. America Builds Locomotives At Rate of Thirty Per Day
The first locomotive for American war service in France was finished in 20 working days and engines of this type are now produced at about 30 per day. About 680 locomotives and over 9,000 standard gauge freight cars are on order.
