Able Minister Dr Alfred Jones Dies. Virginia Presbyterian Leader
The Rev. Dr. Alfred Jones, long serving pastor of Opequon Church Kernstown and former moderator of the Virginia Synod, died after a lingering illness. Born near Wheeling West Virginia he led large congregations in Martinsburg Round Hill Burnt Church and Timber Ridge and remained active preaching despite failing health. Funeral at Opequon Church tomorrow will be led by Rev F M Woods with interment in Mount Hebron Cemetery.
