Upwards of one hundred people gathered at police headquarters this morning awaiting the police court opening before Judge Donald L. Weems. By 10.30 a m most spectators left disappointed as only a small group of prisoners faced the bar. Clarence Butler and Minor Corby were arrested at No 9 West Bend street with 35 bottles of alleged beer and a small quantity of liquor. Each was convicted on illegal possession of liquor and fined 73 dollars plus 30 days in jail. Paul Carper was fined 17 dollars for drunken and disorderly conduct. Charles Grim of East Pall Mall street drew 12 dollars for drunkenness. Corbit Purtlebaugh faced charges of illegal liquor possession failing to stop at an officer command and destruction of evidence. His trial was continued to 3 p m today.
