Henry Peterson 24, sought in Brooklyn for a shoplifting and patrolman shooting, opened fire at Baltimore police headquarters after surrendering at a lodging house. Detective Sergeant Joseph Carroll died. Sergeants Fred Carroll and Elmer O Grady were wounded. Peterson was critically wounded with seven wounds. Peterson claimed origin from Denmark and had been in the United States a short time.

Car Crash Injures Dr Bloodgood and Family in Harpers Ferry
Dr. Joseph Bloodgood of Baltimore his wife Miss Edith Holt Mrs Bayard Turnbull and chauffeur Henry Richardson were hospitalized after their car struck an iron rail near the toll house at Harpers Ferry plunged into the Potomac River. A boy on the rail and other bystanders aided the injured as ambulances carried them to hospitals.

Emma Alley a 16 year old student was found dead with her head crushed and partly submerged in a small stream near Alborn Mill New Castle Pa hunters located the body today. Goss Lands Whale of a Bass at Shenandoah River
Edward C. Goss of the Winchester Gas Company returned from the Shenandoah River with a black bass weighing about six pounds when weighed, more than two hours out of water causing shrinkage. It was the largest bass seen in the area since the fishing season opened July 1, and it was the only fish he caught that afternoon.

Heavily Fined For Crowding Car From Road At Middletown
Wallace Whitacre a local clerk was fined 30 dollars and costs in the county magistrate court by Justice Tavern er Saturday for crowding the automobile of Dr I Carter of Berryville from the pike causing the Carter car to strike a tree and suffer heavy damage. The court gave until November 24 to pay the fine and costs, with default means road work. Testimony showed the crowding was deliberate.
