The funeral of Clar ence M. Janney who died last Sunday at Middleway Jefferson county West Virginia took place today with services at the house by Rev Hunter Davidson and burial at Masonic Cemetery. He suffered a heart attack while his wife prepared his birthday dinner and died about 12 30 pm. He was nearly 57 and had been ill for two years. Born in Frederick county Virginia he was the son of Hugh S and Ella Riley Janney and moved to Middleway about 30 years ago to work as a carpenter. Surviving are his widow formerly Miss Margaret Anderson of Middleway four children Mrs Clifton Kiter Lyndon Clara and Hugh at home two brothers and two sisters Mrs William Shultz Hugh and Eli Janney of Hagerstown Maryland and Miss Ella Janney a registered nurse of Philadelphia.

Mrs. Eliza Clinchinst Crim, 94, famed Civil War figure known as the mother of the V. M. I. cadets, died at her New Market home. Death ends career of James M. Lamp in Martinsburg
The body of James M. Lamp, 76, retired Martinsburg merchant, died last Saturday after a prolonged illness. He was born August 20, 1855, in Back Creek Valley and lived in Green Spring, Bunker Hill, and Martinsburg, where he ran a mercantile business. He is survived by his widow Amanda DeHaven, five daughters, two sons, a brother, and many relatives. Interment was in Mount Hebron Cemetery. services conducted by Rev. S. R. Diehl.

Lumber Rates To Shenandoah Valley Questioned By Lynchburg
