Davis urges higher Red Cross war relief quota locally
Norman H. Davis, chairman of the National Red Cross, telegraphed Winchester Frederick County Chapter leader Rev. H Wemeldorf urging speed in completing local war relief. He says the ten million dollar minimum is only a starting point and quotas should be doubled where possible to aid millions of refugees in France. The Winchester total reached 1617 with 383 left to reach the minimum, and officials hope to meet the quota this week.
