Tydings Sees Maryland as Roosevelt Favorite Son if No Third Term
Maryland Senator Millard E. Tydings heads to the Democratic National Convention as the state's favorite son with 16 votes unless President Roosevelt runs again. If Roosevelt seeks a third term, Maryland delegates will vote freely on the first ballot. Tydings spoke at the state convention where 32 delegates with half a vote each were chosen.
