General Defends Silk Wallpaper In Army Office
Gen. Alden K. Sibley defends silk wallpaper in his Mobility Command office bathroom saying it cost less than the originally planned tiling. He describes the space as small and barely adequate for 20 daily users. Congressional testimony in Washington questioned his taste as Rep. John J. McFall noted $245,800 for further modifications plus vanity, paneling, vinyl tile and carpeting. Sibley, 53, a Rhodes Scholar with degrees in physics, said there is nothing elaborate about the office.
