The city selects the Rouss Spring area between the armory and College for the Fieldhouse. A fund drive is boosted to 300000 dollars with $50000 on hand. The project, named Winchester Civic Center, will be city maintained at an estimated 20000 dollars yearly revenue offset. Winchester Memorial Hospital reports busiest year on record
Hospital Administrator Carl S. Napps told the Board of Directors that last year was the busiest in the hospital’s history with 12 023 admissions and average stay of 7.4 days. Missing Man Sought Near Stephens City
Harold Thomas a 57 year old Elkton Maryland chemical engineer has been missing since 11 a.m. yesterday. State police reported no new leads and a pond near the home was dragged by volunteers to check for drowning. Mrs Thomas said he liked walks and was last seen in the yard before leaving for an outdoor stroll. The Thomases’ vacation home sits two miles west of Stephens City on Rt 641 with woodland stretching toward Cedarville.
