The Apple Blossom Festival parade committee led by Capt. Henry Steere finalized the lineup and route for the big parade tomorrow afternoon. The long march includes civic, industrial floats with many artistic entries and participants from Winchester, Frederick County, and state agencies.
The death of Benjamin Churchill Friend was announced in Winchester by Rev. Dr. F T McFaden. He died at Narrows Virginia at his son Robert Gibson Friend’s residence. He left three sons Emory Charles and Robert and two brothers John and Rev Charles Friend and three sisters. He was a veteran of the Rockbridge Artillery and served in the Confederate army from age 15. Funeral held in Charlotte County with interment by his late wife. The McFaden family mourns another recent loss in Portsmouth.
Miss A Belle Larrick of Lexington Virginia denied striking a Ford near Woodstock and facing a court summons. A colored chauffeur was unnamed, and both were later released as a Woodstock trial was set for Thursday. A separate crash near Winchester injured Harry Long with a fractured leg.
Staunton Military Academy cadet orchestra twelve strong with Charleston and other dances performs nightly at the Empire Theatre between the picture show and the musical comedy around eight thirty. It adds a popular priced program with feature pictures and a complete musical comedy, changing each night.

Over 30 motorists were arrested Saturday for driving without tail or front lights. They paid $7 bail, received a lecture from Justice Donald Weems, and were dismissed with refunds for those who posted security. Two out of town men may reclaim their money at police headquarters. future infractions will be fined.

Roy Richards known as the Masked Aviator denies a serious accident and says he burned his hand but will fly tomorrow. He and Lieut. Menifee left Lincoln on Saturday in a new 180 horsepower Arrow Special biplane and reached Winchester yesterday morning. They will take passengers aloft at the fair grounds all week and perform exhibitions there. Also notes guests Gardiner Hillyard family of Baltimore visit and T. E. Mathews plans to travel to Glasgow, Scotland.
