Allied Headquarters Naples May 3 reports a German attack in the Garigliano sector made slight penetrations but these were quickly wiped out. Brisk patrol clashes occurred on the Anzio beachhead with engagements southeast of Carroceto and southwest of Cisterna. Allied raiders at Cerreto Alto on the beachhead extreme right returned word that a nearby village appeared evacuated by the enemy.
