Silvery Oratory Of Bryan Missing At the Convention
OUSTONO June 27 A name long central to the Democratic party and its conventions has left the rolls as the party to choose its 1928 presidential nominee. The silver tongue and influence of William Jennings Bryan who guided the party from 1896 to 1924 is dead. He thrice sought the presidency and remained a power in its walls even at Madison Square Garden in 1924. He led Florida's delegation and backed Wm G McAdoo, aiding the compromise that nominated John W Davis for president for his brother Charles W Bryan.
