Democratic convention delegates debate a dry plank amid protests over Al Smith. Virginia and Virginia Beach delegates refrain from participating in mass demonstrations while Smith loyalty clashes with anti Smith factions.
At Houston Virginia delegates cheer Roosevelt citing Woodrow Wilson birth state ties as platform talks continue. Carter Glass clashes with Maryland senator over prohibition while sub committee approves Pittman draft for enforcement of the eighteenth amendment and farm policy provisions.
The Winchester Concert Band directed by Prof. W H McIlwee will give an outdoor concert Friday at 10 pm near the Court House. A collection will be taken to pay a note due July 2 and for recent expenses. but the band wishes concerts stay free if possible. The program includes Sousa Right Forward, Wagner Tannhauser, Goodwin Hail the Baltimore and Ohio, Waldtenfel The Skater, Sanford Memories, Williams Birds of Spring, Rossini William Tell music, Boisvert Peace Centennial.
The Associated Press reports uneven price movements in New York trading with a general upward trend. Call money secured at 7 percent while overall trading showed profit taking in some strong areas and about 1.6 million shares were traded.

The panel, led by Chairman F Nash Bilisoly, adjourned for lunch after a 50 minute session starting at 2:15 PM.
Cesare Sabelli and crew launched the Bellante sesqui plane Roma from Curtia Field at 3 20 a m for a 24 hour chess test en route to Rome. Roger I Williams acted as pilot with Piero Bonelli and Dr Leon M Pisciullo among the passengers.

Miss Amelia Earhart Wilmer Stultz and Louis Gordon left Southampton bound for home after a cordial British welcome following their Atlantic flight from Newfoundland. The group was greeted by passengers along the rails as the President Roosevelt docked and their tender approached.
