Mrs. Lucy L Lonas wife of Canter Lonas died at home 818 South Main after a long illness from cancer. She was a devout Christian and highly regarded by many. Funeral Thursday at 11 from her residence with Rev George S Bowers of Grace Lutheran Church officiating. Interment Mount Hebron Cemetery. She was daughter of Alexander Roe Gainesboro and former Mrs Alice Shuler. Survived by husband and four children Ernest Ronnie Lonas Fred Penn and Sadie Cresgwell.

Second World War draft lottery set for Capitol drawing
The War Department announced the second draft lottery will be held at the Capitol Thursday at 9 am. About 744,865 registrants born in 21 year olds on June 6 will have their order numbers drawn, with roughly 1,200 key numbers expected. Secretary Baker will draw the first number.

Ninety seven American expeditionary forces casualties announced.
