Preston Simons a Clarke County youth was accidentally shot in the right leg above the knee while handling a rifle. Dr. Chas. O. Dearmont took him to Winchester and treated him with tetanus serum at the People's Drug Store before returning him home. recovery expected if no complications arise. A bone fragment near the bullet surfaced but was not removed. Charles L. Bowly returned to Washington after a weekend in town.

Cool will become an instructor at Bridgewater College later this summer.
