An Air Force four engine C135 with 24 aboard vanished on a classified Pacific mission between American Samoa and Hawaii. Debris and an emergency beacon were found 200 miles north of Palmyra Island after the disappearance. The aircraft, based at Wright Patterson, was en route to Hickam Air Force Base from Pago Pago on a 2227 mile flight.
