Seven Die in Detroit Dope Pad Slayings
Seven persons were shot to death and a eighth wounded critically in a mass killing at a Hazelwood Street two story house near 12th Street. Police found heroin and a dozen firearms at the scene. The victims included four women tied with arms behind them. The wounded man remained in critical condition at Henry Ford Hospital. Police suspect narcotics related warfare in the Detroit underworld.
