Universal markets a theatrical pilot of Battlestar Galactica after its TV run ends. Jane Seymour stars, boosting her career as the space saga gets a summer release following Buck Rogers.
English theater work helped Dame Seymour land diverse roles. In Hollywood for King David she failed to shed her accent until she trained via British radio dialects. The breakthrough comes with Somewhere in Time starring opposite Christopher Reeve, where she plays an English lady in a romantic drama.
The CBS drama The Last Giraffe receives praise for its heartfelt rescue theme but criticism for shallow production and overovert sentiment. Susan Anspach plays Betty Bruce, a divorcee who travels to Kenya to work and ends up marrying tour guide Jack Leslie-Melville while saving a giraffe.

The day ends with children’s programs before afternoon fare resumes at 4 PM.
