Governor Byrd to speak on amendments at Winchester theater
The Virginia Governor Harry F. Byrd will address a crowd at the Colonial Theatre Winchester discussing pending constitutional amendments and the state’s tax system. The event includes a Handley High School band concert and a moving picture show opening at 8:25 p.m. with seating expanded to about 1200. Continues on page nine.

Man accused of staging hold up held for court
Berryville Virginia June 7. J W Riely driver for Ramsburg discovered after a muddy road hold up near Colemans lane. The robber fled in a car with Riely surrendering 75 dollars. Suspicions led to John Lanham whose muddy car tracks revealed involvement. Lanham denied guilt but bound over to July grand jury, bail set at 1000 dollars.
