Rain Breaks Records and Reservoir Dam Flooding
Norfolk reported a record 24 hour rainfall of 6.86 inches while nearby Williamsburg received nearly 8 inches. Flood conditions opened a hole in the Waller Mill Reservoir Dam causing water to divert to Lake Matoaka and the James River. Pumps were deployed to supply drinking water and residents were urged to boil water. The rainfall affected Surry New York Charles City New Kent James City and nearby counties.

Rockingham Man Dies of Crash Injuries
