GONSPIRACY 10 SMUGGLE RUSSIANS IN U S FOUND
District Attorney F J Graham disclosed a plan to smuggle thousands of Russian aliens from Cuba into the United States via Florida. Nefton Josephs, steward of the General Lewin, was arraigned on smuggling charges as three Russian stowaways were found aboard. Josephs pleaded guilty and paid a 300 dollar fine after claiming he hid the Russians under orders to aid countrymen in distress.
