Arabian Sailing Ships Trade With East Africa
In Mombasa Kenya Arab ships known as dhows anchor for the monsoon season. The Ghanjah type dhow with five windows resembles a ship of old, built in Cutch and sold to Arabs. Dhows trade between the Arabian peninsula and East Africa for over 1,000 years, unloading goods by hand while modern freighters grow. Fort Jesus and Vasco da Gama era history anchor a scene of docking and caulking along the old harbor.
