Clarke County Horse and Pony Show Scheduled for Aug 7
The first annual Clarke County Horse and Pony Show takes place August 7 at the Clarke County Raritan Horse Show Grounds beginning at 9 a.m. with nine championship divisions and five ribbons per class. Proceeds support the Raritan Horse Barn Fund. Two rings run simultaneously with various hunter and pony classes plus a lead line and good hands class. Open to the public with free admission and on-site refreshments.

School Census Nears Completion in Clarke County

Injured in Berryville Crash
One person suffered a cut in a two vehicle crash in Berryville at 2 a.m. on Buckmarsh Street near Academy Street. Philip Danny McIntire 28 of White Post said he fell asleep. Roland Cox of Summit Point drove a van with a trailer carrying a racing car. Larry Larrick a passenger in McIntire s car also had a cut under the left eye. Both vehicles were totaled. The trailer and racing car were undamaged.

Firemen and Rescue Squad Fund Event Planned in Berryville
Members of the John H. Enders Fire Company and Rescue Squad announce their annual fund drive yard party and auction at the Legion Building Berryville on Wednesday July 21. A 5 pm yard party will feature old ham fried chicken and other dishes. The auction includes items donated by local merchants plus furniture farm machinery and livestock. The event serves as the only fundraising activity for the two groups and all are invited to attend. Berryville Boy Scouts will not pick up paper this Saturday due to camp. next pickup is in August.

Clarke County Walk for Recreation Planned for Aug 7
Plans for the Clarke County Walk for Recreation on Saturday Aug 7 aim to raise funds for the county year round recreation program. The 15 mile route starts at the Smithey property E Main St Berryville goes through Battletown and Longmarsh districts and back. Volunteers need sponsors and all money is tax deductible.
