Winchester police say three local juveniles aged 17 and 14 were implicated in a bomb threat to Handley High School yesterday at about 10 20 am. The incident led to a 45 minute evacuation of 1200 students while police searched the building. no bomb was found.

A fast moving blaze at Westminster Terrace Presbyterian Home for Senior Citizens in Kentucky killed nine residents and injured at least 48. The four story building housed 91 occupants and was evacuated after a 2 15 a m fire started in the chapel area. Fire officials noted limited panic and said 50 residents were brought out through windows while the center stairways and elevators were blocked by smoke and doors.
The Supreme Court of Appeals will hear Frederick County annexation arguments Monday at 3 30 p m in Richmond over a writ of error and superseders. A petition in opposition has been filed. The court awarded Winchester 5.9 square miles of Frederick County effective Dec 31 1970 at midnight. County Attorney Eugene Gunter announced and said he and John Thornton Jr of Roanoke and J Sloan Kuykendall of Winchester will present the arguments.
