Israeli commandos penetrated 28 miles into Lebanon in a night raid 120 men strong using four helicopters attacking a Gaza border guerrilla base at Sarafand on the Mediterranean coast. Ten Arabs killed, many wounded, two Israeli helicopters damaged, and two guerrilla strongpoints destroyed. Lebanese army and guerrillas claimed repelling the raid.
