Fire Claims Lives Of Mother And Six Of Her Children
In Centerville area a mother Mrs Shelby and six of her seven children died in a blaze that leveled their six room home. Neighbor Adolph Shelby, 50, pulled the unconscious father from the burning house as Doyle Bowen, 26, rescued him as the structure neared collapse. A 12 year old son was in another home. Fire likely started in the living room from a heater or defective flue.
