Fire destroys truck and damages car in Sunday garage blaze
A Sunday morning fire at 1:20 p m in the Parish garages on E Cecil street destroyed a Rathman Bakery 1938 Dodge panel truck and damaged Leslie R Smith 1935 Chevrolet. Two other cars were moved for safety and no injuries reported. The blaze likely started in the truck placed in the garage Saturday afternoon. The Parish garage owner Nora Parish carried insurance on the truck. Smith’s car was not insured. A chimney fire later at 1005 Woodlawn Avenue was reported but caused no damage.
