Baby In Carriage Survives Truck Crash Injures Mother
In Baltimore on February 15 a runaway truck swerved to avoid a dog and struck an electric pole then hit a pushing Mrs. Vinnie Earp and her six week old daughter Sandra Jean Clear. The infant was unharmed while the mother suffered a leg injury doctors fear may require amputation. Fifty Injured as Orange Blossom Special Derails Near Macville
Fifty people were injured, mostly minor, when the Seaboard Air Line northbound Orange Blossom Special derailed about a mile south of Macville Florida. Six sleeping cars and a diner left the tracks, with 30 needing first aid at the scene and 20 or more sent to Jacksonville for care. Hospital officials reported only two serious injuries among admitted patients.
