Clarke Board Objects To Secretary Pay Increase
Clarke County supervisors opposed a $300 raise for Miss Dolly Hart, secretary to the commissioner of revenue, after the State Compensation Board in Richmond approved the increase to 600 a year for full time work. Thomas had sought the raise via the compensation board and noted Hart was employed on a yearly basis with monthly pay. The Clarke board had protested at its November meeting and reiterated its objection yesterday. The compensation board's action followed Hart's prior low pay and part time status in 1936.
