Clergyman Edgar Carpenter Dies in Winchester After Angina Attack
The Rev. Edgar Carpenter 63 rector of Grace Episcopal Church Alexandria Va died after a sudden angina attack Monday night in Winchester after a meeting of the Elks. He studied at Virginia Theological Seminary and served Virginia Maryland and Kentucky parishes before moving to Alexandria in 1904. He helped erect Cancer Hall in 1922 and belonged to the Virginia Educational Society and Alexandria Ministerial Association. He was a widower with two brothers and a sister residing in Maryland and Germany.

Winchester firemen were called to a field on the Valley Pike owned by W. M. Richards where several shocks of fodder burned. The flames were knocked down quickly with booster tanks and caused little damage.
