Capitol Records Plant in Winchester Turns Out 150000 Records Daily
The Winchester Capitol Records plant operates on a three-shift, five day week system and can produce 150000 records and 10000 tape cassettes per 24 hours when full. Plant manager Lee Simpson notes fall and Christmas drive peak demand while summer slows production. Winchester site chosen for east coast access via Interstate 81 and favorable land, labor, and water conditions.
