East German jet crash kills 156 aboard Interflug flight
A Soviet built Ilyushin 62 charter jet carrying East German vacationers to Burgas crashed shortly after takeoff from East Berlin. All 156 aboard were killed including 148 passengers and eight crew. Rescue teams found no survivors.
