Firefighters from ten visiting units assist and are treated in hospital but refuse to identify themselves. The Glaize and Bro plant loses millions of feet of lumber with an estimated damage of $100000 and no insurance. Incendiarism suspected as threats spread, police and firemen fight the blaze throughout the morning.
Fred L. Glaize says a $200 reward is offered for information leading to the arrest of the arsonists who destroyed the Glaize and Brother lumber yard early today. Over one million feet burned amid a costly blaze with ten visiting firemen injured while aiding Winchester volunteers.
The Rev Washington Johnson a longtime Primitive Baptist minister in Winchester Leesburg and Baltimore died last Sunday in Baltimore at about 87. He served in a northern regiment during the Civil War and later returned to Virginia. Survived by three sons Otway Washington and Gabriel in Pennsylvania and a daughter in Baltimore.
Norwegian steamer crew spotted a body west of Foula on Sunday after heavy storms near the Shetland Islands. Officials in Cleveland said if the body wore flying clothes it could not be Parker Cra mer or Oliver Pacquette, the missing airmen from a flight to Copenhagen.

In the local Corporation Court yesterday afternoon attorney Jas P Reardon qualified as administrator of the late Frank Lovett estate. Bond set at 10000 dollars. Shenandoah Valley National Bank named guardian of Lovett's three minor children with bond of 15000 dollars. Lovett left life insurance and other assets for his wife and children.
Thousands of visitors crowded Winchester streets for the 2 p.m. grand parade of the Virginia State and Cumberland Valley Volunteer Firemen, ending a four day program. Representing Virginia, West Virginia, Pennsylvania and Maryland, the event features over three miles of apparatus and 2 hours of marching with 40 plus companies in two divisions led by Cumberland Valley and Virginia State firemen associations.

Visiting firemen and locals packed West Piccadilly Street for the Virginia State and Cumberland Valley Volunteer Firemen convention block dance between Loudoun and Braddock streets. Roped off areas hosted two orchestras and dancers moved to jazz, string melodies, and square dance tunes from a hotel balcony and a truck-mounted group.
Warner Brothers theater chain announces Fox Movietone will film the grand parade and band contests at the Fair Grounds this afternoon. Capitol Theatre manager Fred Thomas says the footage is part of the studio’s community service and the pictures will be shown soon at the Capitol Theatre.
Rev Dr J H Lacy pastor of the First Presbyterian Church departs Clarksville for London to attend the world conference on faith and order. He sails from New York on the Carmania and plans to return on the Mauretania after a England Scotland tour. He was formerly pastor at Loudoun Street Presbyterian Church in Clarksville.
