Miss Janet Gay Watkins has plans for her marriage to Davis Haines. The ceremony will be performed by Rev. Jacob Mast at Braddock Street Methodist Church at 4 p.m. The ushers are Charles Haines and Russell Brokaw. A reception follows in the church social room.

Philip Carbaugh returned to Bethesda Naval Hospital with family. Nettie Carbaugh and Claud Grim attended Roanoke American Legion Convention where Carbaugh was elected 7th District president and chair of the District Music Committee.
