Festival Parade Rolls On Despite Early Damage
The festival truck sustained only a dented fender, easily repaired, after an upset. After a quick inspection the crew moved on to Winchester an hour behind schedule. The Keyser firemen and band joined the parade, guests of the Friendship Fire Company, delivering an excellent line march.

Woman Visitor Robbed In Alley Near Loudoun Street
A Martinsburg woman staying in town was robbed of $15 and a pearl necklace after a purse snatch in an alley off East Piccadilly Street near Loudoun Street. A passerby intervened as the thief fled. a later suspect was arrested but the victim could not be located for identification.

The Baltimore and Ohio Railroad received a sterling silver loving cup for the largest display in the Apple Blossom Festival parade. John McCabe of Brunswick coordinated much of the exhibit with 1,200 Brunswick area students, two bands, and multiple floats. The parade featured a new President Washington locomotive, painted olive green with gold trim, one of twenty named after U.S. presidents.

Allen's Woodwork Exhibit Draws Noted Interest at Apple Blossom
Visitors to the Apple Blossom Festival toured the Sidna Allen woodwork exhibit in the Hable Apartment building on South Loudoun street. Admission was 25 cents. The show features inlaid pieces, including a 75,000 piece table using 79 woods and a 16,000 piece table. Allen offers 500 dollars to anyone who counts all the 75,000 pieces without harming the table. The exhibit closes tomorrow night at 11 o'clock.

About 75 000 visitors attended the second day of the Apple Blossom Festival in Winchester and police reported excellent crowd conduct with no arrests except a bootlegger. Several thefts were noted including pocketbook losses totaling 120 40 and 80 dollars. Traffic control by fifty officers kept cars moving smoothly as Loudoun street remained closed to vehicles.

Camil lus Edmonds, once of Winchester and now a Washington resident for over 30 years, attended the Apple Blossom festival. He shipped a carload of apples from Winchester 53 years ago as a buyer and dealer and has watched the industry grow. Edmonds owns substantial property in Washington and several Winchester houses, devoting time to his investments. A motorist at 30 mph could drive three years and 16 days on American highways without seeing the same milepost.
