A forecast predicts five days of pleasant conditions for the upcoming festival with improving sunshine and rising temperatures. Officials urge attendees to plan accordingly as clear skies are expected and temperatures climb through the weekend.
Final preparations for the fourth annual Shenandoah Apple Blossom Festival proceed in Winchester. Assistant Secretary of War Hanford MacNider will arrive tomorrow, attend a children's parade, and return to Washington. Princesses from Virginia and other states prepare at the George Washington Hotel, with 500 John Kerr School pupils staging The Dances of the Blossom at Handley Stadium.
Tickets on sale for the Pageant of Progress of the Shenandoah Valley at Winchester Fair Grounds April 27 28 with over 600 cast and United States Navy Band. General admission 1 reserved 73 cents boxes six for 6 available at Apple Blossom Festival HQ George Washington Hotel.
Baltimore and Ohio Railroad announces participation in the Apple Blossom Festival at Winchester April 27 and 28. The event features school children, local bands, and floats plus a special President Washington locomotive from B&O’s fleet, named after U S presidents and painted olive green with gold and maroon.

Navy aviators Lieut Comdr Noel Davis and Lieut S H Wooster were killed when the three motor American Legion crashed during a test flight at Messick Virginia en route to New York for the Orteig prize. Reports differ on the accident with Col Culver stating engine trouble caused a nose dive and eyewitness E W Forrest describing a low altitude dive.

Windsor Ontario reports Mrs Humma Thomas aged 44 of Ford City killed her four young children by slashing their throats with a butcher knife and then attempted suicide.

William Smith of The Evening Star office received a Staunton Virginia telegram announcing the death of his brother Alfred Smith in Staunton hospital after pneumonia. He was about 69, son of the late Alfred and Grace Smith of Staunton, respected colored residents. Funeral to be held in Staunton Wednesday.
