A Sampsell died in Washington's Rey Hospital after an April 9 appendectomy. He had been recovering when sudden death shocked doctors and family. Survived by widow, two sons Jay and Carl, father Rev W H Sampsell, three brothers and four sisters. Funeral planned in Washington on Friday morning.
Funeral services were held at Braddock in Arlington county near Alexandria for Henry D. Grim 58 of Frederick county who died Monday after noon when he fell from a porch roof while painting a house. Interment followed in Alexandria Cemetery. Relatives and friends from Winchester attended. Grim was son of the late Morgan Grim.

Frank Horner a brakeman for Southern Railway died after being struck near the yard at Strasburg at about 11 o clock. He lived here and was 36, married to Alice Burner with four children. Survivors include his mother Mrs Mary Burner and siblings. Railroad workers and townspeople mourn the tragedy.
The American Legion will host a cake sale on Saturday April 19 at 16 A M at the Gift S on Main Street. Proceeds will support Legion activities and Easter cake will be available for purchase.
