Over 60 men joined the Home Guard for its first public drill as recruits filled the assembly hall and plaza. Experienced tacticians led the drill including Lieut. W E Duvall Major Claude Cammer Capt R T Barton and Capt Robert Y Conrad. The group now exceeds sixty with fifteen new members named and more expected at the next drill.
