County wrestles over proposed ONRW designation in Barton Springs

Hays County officials clash with environmental groups over a proposed Outstanding Natural Resource Waters designation for Barton Springs and Barton Creek. Hays County Sheriff's Golf Tournament Benefit Planned

The Hays County Sheriff's Association to host a July 9 1994 golf tournament at Woodcreek Country Club in Wimberley Texas to raise funds for Terri Johnson wife of Patrol Sergeant Mitch Johnson. Entry is 50 per person with 120 players max and 150 per hole for corporate sponsors. Proceeds support medical and travel expenses and donations may be mailed to the association in San Marcos.

Stephenville firm Huckabee and Associates unveiled a preliminary Wimberley high school design on district land near the Danforth campus. The compact multi level plan features a 94 000 square foot campus using the site slope with two entrances for a 250 seat auditorium and a 750 seat gymnasium.

CIS recreation program entertains and educates

CIS offers a free summer recreation program for ages 11 to 18 at Danforth Campus. Under Russell Hamilton, sessions run 1 to 4 p.m. Monday through Thursday until July 28, emphasizing inclusive play, weight lifting with nutrition education, and weekly leisure education to help youths decide how to spend their summers.
