In mid June the HCRA Adult Co Ed Softball season opens with registrations led by Joey Gold and Marty Walker. Community groups invite participation in genealogy, art, crafts and bake sale activities at local venues including Wimberley Village Library and Deer Creek Nursing Center. Texans win district title after eleven inning comeback
In an extra inning thriller, Texans beat Comfort 3 2 after Jay Polhemus was ruled out at home on a nearscore. Kyle Cooper drew an intentional walk to load the bases then Jason Bergen scored the deciding run in the bottom of the 11th, giving Texans their first District Championship and advancing to playoffs Friday.

FCC still expected to approve RuralVision wireless system for Wimberley ISD
RuralVision South Inc along with Wimberley and other area school districts pursue an FCC license for a wireless cable system. The plan would lease airtime back to the districts, which would own frequencies after approval and receive programming and equipment at no charge. Royalties would provide income over a 10 year license, with possible renewal. RuralVision incurs costs to develop the project, with system sizes ranging from 0.8 to 2.0 million dollars.

Franzen among six finalists for Hays High principal post
Gordon Franzen, current principal at Danforth Campus since 1990, is one of six finalists for Jack C. Hays High School principal in Hays CISD. He leads Wimberley Secondary with AP curriculum, block scheduling, and strong UIL results, holding a B.A. in Biology from Sam Houston State and an M.Ed. from Prairie View A&M.

The Technology Students Association of Wimberley Secondary School competed at the Texas Technology Students Association Competition in Waco on May 6 7, marking the first state event for the school. Attendees included Robert Casteel Jennifer Daniels Leann Anderlitch Meredith Fuller Doug Gordon Dorothy Gill Aaron Hager Heather Harrison Brandy Shedd Annas Short Adam Thompson Brent Torres and Mark Crawford. Daniels and Kevin Lee earned blue ribbons while the group received Best in State plaques.
