Wood sculptor Charlie Davis brings bold carvings to life
Local artist Charlie Davis expands Wimberley Carousel Woodworks and earned awards nationwide. Fiesta Texas purchased his 1100 pound dragon head for Sangerfest Halle in Spassburg and he also crafted a trumpeting angel and Arminius statue for the park. Davis, born near San Antonio and trained in Texas, has done royal interiors for Saudi fleets and helms a Texas carousel project for Zilker Park. He moved to Wimberley two years ago, partners with Evan Hintner, and promotes a Texas themed carousel dream as well as ongoing community notices and library hours.
