The Wimberley Lioness Club installed officers Lauren Gold president Alma Stringer 1st vice president Pat Kirkpatrick 2nd vice president Vera Albertson 3rd vice president Kaye Cook secretary Lucille Caffey treasurer Naneilee Hall Lion Tanner and Anne Keaveny Tailtwister. Since 1986 the group has donated time and funds to the community supporting the Santa program Crisis Bread Basket youth programs and Senior Citizens. Their sole income comes from Market Days booth sales.

River Runners Chili Cook-off heats up at Woodcreek Resort
The International River Runners hosts their 4th annual chili cook-off at Woodcreek Resort today with pre registration at 8 a.m. and judging from 1 30 to 2 p.m. Proceeds benefit the Wimberley Chamber of Commerce. Entry is 15 per team and 75 100 cooks expected. A CASI sanctioned horseshoe contest starts at 9 a.m. and World Championship points are at stake. Spectators can arrive around 11 a.m. for showmanship.

Teen Court set up for young offenders
Hays County announces a Teen Court program to hear cases involving youths ages 13 to 19. Trained teen judges prosecutors and staff will handle adjudications referred by juvenile, municipal and justice courts. Verdicts are announced in court with parents present, and participants sign nondisclosure statements.
