County walks FEMA tightrope in win win plan
Hays County Commissioners voted 5-0 to approve a two motion package by Precinct 3 Commissioner Craig Payne. The plan authorizes Wimberley resident Bill Johnson to build a 7 ft wide by 2 ft deep by 50 ft long flood channel with modeling from Dr. Robert Brandes of Austin showing it offsets a 3/8 inch rise in the floodway. Johnson must install a flood stage warning device on Cypress Creek and submit a letter stating County will be held.
