The Wimberley Texan Pride Club holds its annual meeting to elect officers on Tuesday August 3 at 7:00 p.m. in the high school gym with a planning session for the coming year. A pancake supper is planned for Friday August 13 from 5:30 to 7:30 p.m. at the high school cafeteria followed by an intersquad scrimmage at 8:00 p.m. at Texan Stadium.

Daryl Watson and Ann Marie Gambino lost their Deer Lake Estates house and nearly all possessions in a Tuesday fire. The musician husband counted destroyed guitars and mandolins, including a 1960 Gibson J-45 linked to Roy Orbison, with sentimental items irreplaceable. Gambino, away for work, returned to find only smoldering rubble.

Shakespeare Under the Stars Festival in Wimberley
Wimberley High School Lone Star Theatre hosts its fourth annual Shakespeare Under the Stars festival from August 4 to 7 featuring two plays As You Like It and The Tempest. Performances run August 4 6 and August 5 7 with two shows per night in the Dan forth Secondary School courtyard. Seating is limited with reservations at 847 5720. Admission 5 dollars for adults 3 dollars for students. The Shakespeare Repertoire Company includes local students and graduates with casts led by Ty Pearson Gary Wyatt Lydia Miller Wyatt and Rob Salzman among others.
