A Canyon Village Tale of Wimberley and Joyce
In July 1923 Bessie Calk recalls Wimberley Texas a hill country village of cedar covered ridges and the Blanco River curving around the town. Principal Joyce Connally and the narrator recount dangerous floods and a daring crossing of a swollen creek spurred by spring rains and their close brush with danger.
